To only be a feather

Float lightly on the wind

Close eyes in wonder

And begin to pretend

Lightweight and beautiful

Floating round and round

Going on forever

Yet never touching the cold, hard ground

Admired by many

Yet captured by none

Started standing by many

Now floating as one

Going to new places

So light and so free

To only be a feather

And live not confined by what others want for me
